A1 M – Vis Nova rides the Strong Wave

Another round, another race, another victory. Roma Vis Nova wins the second derby of the season, beating Onda Forte 13-12 in a highly contested, tough match that was only decided in the final quarter. A game that was full of hidden traps, especially because the opponents had nothing to lose, being at the bottom of the standings with 0 points. Despite not playing their best game of the season, Roma Vis Nova did enough to secure the win. The first half was evenly balanced, with goals exchanged continuously until the second quarter. In the second half of the game, the lions took the lead by two goals. However, Moskov stepped up, scoring goal after goal (finishing with 7 goals, becoming the top scorer of the championship). The match continued with both teams scoring until the last quarter, with Vis Nova leading with Antonucci and Viskovic at 13-11, but they had to endure until the end before celebrating and securing their sixth win of the season out of seven matches. Now a tough cycle awaits with matches against Brescia, Savona, Bologna, and Recco which will clarify their position better in this first round. The analysis of coach Alessandro Calcaterra: "I told the boys that it would be decided in the last minutes of the game. It was not a beautiful game, quite chaotic, but it worked well for the result. I didn’t like conceding 12 goals, we played poorly with the man-advantage, but we held onto the result. Despite everything, I liked the clarity in the last three minutes, we were good at staying calm. We have changed a lot compared to last year, the new players are giving a lot. We are more at ease."
