Celebration for the first historic victory in A2 by the promoted TRS Piacenza Water Polo 2018, achieved in the third round of the championship (second game played due to the postponement of the second match). The match was always led by Piacenza, and only in the last quarter, with some fatigue and several fouls against, including two double exclusions, caused some fear despite Piacenza having a 10-6 lead at the start of the final quarter. The first quarter saw the Ancona team take the lead with a penalty saved by the solid goalkeeper Bernardi, setting the stage for an excellent quarter where TRS Piacenza Water Polo 2018 played ordered and ended up leading 3-1. In the second quarter, the opponents leveraged their excellent physical condition with quick movements that troubled the local defense. They managed to draw level 4-4 for the only time in the match, but the locals ended the second quarter 5-4 ahead. In the third quarter, TRS Piacenza Water Polo 2018 continued to work in defense, playing an orderly game against the opponents' frenzied attacks. Piacenza capitalized on their attacking centers to break the opponent's defense and closed the penultimate quarter in a 9-5 lead. In the fourth quarter, with 5 minutes remaining, Piacenza was leading 10-6 and the match seemed virtually closed. However, Vela Swim Ancona's excellent physical condition reignited the game, scoring their final goal with 8" left. The previous 4-goal lead enabled the home team to finish 12-11, securing 3 important points for the standings and morale, crucial for a promoted team. The results of the first 3 rounds show a very balanced group where each game is unpredictable, and with the right attitude, Piacenza can have a good season. Outstanding performance by Beggiato and Rosanò; Marciano was pivotal in the team's gameplay, and Giacobbe's return was excellent, always dangerous in the opponent's area. For coach Picasso, after the break - since the second match was rescheduled to February and considering the unexpected results in other matches - it was important to start earning points. The team took on this responsibility, and despite being partially new and the gameplay mechanisms not yet fully optimized, the players began to show their value. I don't want to judge individuals; it was a good match for the whole team, everyone contributed beyond the goals scored. The opponent was tough and never gave up, even when they were trailing by 4 goals towards the end. At that point where victory seemed secured, we thought we could manage the game, but in reality, we should have kept playing. This wrong approach was followed by a reaction, with the team restarting the game and scoring, thus earning our first points.
