A1 M – Florentia vs Pro Recco 6-20
Pro Recco achieves the seventh victory in the championship by defeating Florentia 6-20. The white and light blues remain at the top with a full score together with Brescia. Four goals for Iocchi Gratta and Condemi, top scorers of the day.
Without Younger and Echenique, coach Sukno gives ample space to the young players Demarchi, Gardella, and Scarmi.
Pro Recco makes things clear right away and after three minutes is already leading 0-4 with a double from Francesco Di Fulvio, facing off against his brother Carlo. An even larger gap at the first siren, as after Borghigiani's penalty goal, Sukno's players respond with Condemi's counter-attack goal and Presciutti's diagonal shot from position 1 (1-6).
The white and light blues start the second half on a +7 lead with Demarchi punishing Gioia's adventurous exit and Iocchi Gratta scoring with a man-up opportunity. Florentia also capitalizes on their advantage with Cardoni, while on the other side, Cannella launches one of his rockets for 2-9. The hosts score again with a nice goal from Sordini beating Del Lungo after a dribble past his marker, but Pro Recco is already in double digits halfway through the period thanks to Fondelli's diagonal shot from position 2 (3-10). The quarter ends with a back-and-forth between De Mey and Haverkampf for the 4-11 scoreline reached in the first sixteen minutes.
Negri replaces Del Lungo in goal at the start of the third quarter and Iocchi Gratta storms through with three goals in five minutes (5-14). Applause for him and for Condemi who dribbles past Gioia and scores entering the goal with the ball. Before the siren, Durik also adds his name to the scoresheet with a volley on Gardella's assist making it 5-16.
The game is already sealed, but Pro Recco keeps playing: Presciutti and Cannella add more goals to hurt Gioia (5-18). Before the end, Condemi scores two more goals, reaching Iocchi Gratta as the top scorer of the match.
