NO Vouliagmeni stopped Panathinaikos' momentum, 13-7 in Laimos
NO Vouliagmeni was the big winner in the top-of-the-table clash of the 7th round of the Men's A1 Water Polo Championship. Vladimir Vujasinović's modern "hubbies" prevailed 13-7 on Sunday afternoon (24/11) at the crowded Laimos swimming pool, halting the momentum and the unbeaten run of the Greens in this year's championship.
The two teams are now tied at the top of the group standings, with 18 points each, awaiting the result of Panionios against NO Patras to see if there will be a three-way tie at the top.
With a strong defense in the first three quarters and multiple offensive solutions, combined with a remarkable performance in the third period (scoring 4-0), the team from Laimos took the lead and created a significant gap. They led 8-5 at halftime and 12-5 at the end of the third period, with Panathinaikos reducing the gap in the final quarter to 13-7.
