Champions | Full of victories for Spanish teams on a perfect Saturday
A spectacular Saturday for our Spanish teams in Matchday 3 of the Women's Champions League. Assolim CN Mataró won 16-9 against Plebiscito Padova, CN Terrassa prevailed 14-13 against Hungarian Dunaujvaros, Astralpool Sabadell triumphed 11-16 over Greek Vouliagmeni, and Sant Andreu surpassed Orizzonte Catania 16-10.
Starting with the match that opened this third date. Assolim CN Mataró achieved a very important victory against Plebiscito Padova (16-9) in a very good game by Dani Ballart's team, leading 8-4 at halftime. The team from Maresme always dominated, able to seal the match with eight minutes remaining (13-5).
First victory for CN Terrassa in the top continental competition. The team won a tight match against Dunaujvaros in a penalty shootout after the game ended 10-10 at the end of regular time.
Astralpool CN Sabadell remains unstoppable in the same group as Terrassa. David Palma's team won 11-16 in their visit to Greek Vouliagmeni. The duo Bea Ortiz-Rita Keszthelyi stood out, scoring 10 goals between them (5+5). The game was even until halftime (8-8) but broke open after that.
Lastly, another team making strides in the Champions League. CN Sant Andreu secured their third win in three games by defeating Orizzonte Catania 16-10, one of the tough competitors in the competition. Javi Aznar's team was already leading 8-4 at halftime. Ari Ruiz shined in attack with five goals, leading the Barcelona team.
