No. 1 UCLA Advances to MPSF Semifinals
The Bruins had a total of 12 players score in the contest, paced by redshirt junior Eli Liechty, who tied his season-high with the second hat trick of the year. Four other Bruins scored multiple goals, which included freshman Peter Castillo, graduate student Jack Larsen, redshirt junior Chase Dodd, and freshman Ryder Dodd, which each scored two goals. Junior Noah Rowe also tied Jack Larsen with a game-high four points for the Bruins (one goal, three assists).
Graduate student Garret Griggs got the start in the cage and played the first half, pitching a shutout while tallying four saves and two assists. Redshirt freshman Nate Tauscher played the second half and registered eight saves and a steal while surrendering two scores.
UCLA, which never trailed in the contest, won the first quarter, 10-0. The Bruins won the second quarter, 6-0, to claim a halftime lead of 16-0. UCLA shut down its offense as both teams drew to a 2-2 tie in the second half.
