Leaders in Away Matches
While Premier League teams will play in the 8th round, A1 league teams are lagging behind. In this league, group A (West), upcoming weekend brings matches of the 5th round. To be precise, only three matches, as one has already been played earlier.
In the middle of last week at the Poljud pool, OVK Split defeated Maribor's Branik (14:11). This was an especially important moment for the residents of Split, as OVK Split then secured their first points of the season.
Both leading teams in group A or West, Mornar and Medveščak, will be playing away matches in the 5th round. However, Mornar has a much easier task. Coach Marin Kliškinjić's team will be visiting Budva, and this Montenegrin club currently holds the last place in the group.
Medveščak is expected to have a much tougher job as they will be visiting Zadar 1952 at Višnjik. These two clubs are only separated by 3 points, with the people of Zadar closely tracking the people of Zagreb, and they are a team that can take advantage of any sign of a drop in form or mistakes from their opponents.
In Korčula, KPK will aim for their third victory, this time against guests from Split, POŠK-om 1937. This season, the people of Korčula have already faced the other two Split teams. They convincingly defeated OVK Split, while they lost to a strong Mornar, but not easily. Until the beginning of the third quarter, it was undecided, and in the end, only a 'mere' 2 point difference for Mornar. Indeed, each game is a story of its own, and it is difficult, often even wrong, to 'build' an impression or expectations for another game based on one match. Although, it's not always wrong. We will see on Saturday.
