Apollon Smyrnis lost in penalties (16-15) to Brescia, still hopeful
Apollon Smyrnis played a great game in Italy, but lost in penalties to the Italian team Brescia with a score of 16-15 in the 5th matchday of the Men's Euro Cup group stage. Despite the defeat, Petar Radanovic's team remains "alive" in Group A, thanks to Yug Dubrovnik's victory over Strasbourg with a score of 15-11. In order to secure the second spot, Radanovic's team must defeat Strasbourg in the last matchday at home and at the same time Yug must lose at home to Brescia.
For most of the game, the two teams were evenly matched, with the slight advantage going to "Apollon" in the fourth quarter (9-11). However, Brescia equalized, sending the match to penalties. There, the Italians were cooler and celebrated the victory.
