(Rio de Janeiro, November 17, 2024) Guanabara is the champion of the National Special Division Water Polo League. The final phase of the competition was held since last Thursday (14) at the Santos Dumont Sports Center in Recife. In the final match, Guanabara defeated Tijuca 13-12 and claimed the title.
The competition brought together six teams and athletes who do not compete in the National Water Polo League organized by PAB.
To take the trophy home, the Rio de Janeiro club won four matches and lost two over the four days of competition.
This Sunday, besides the final won by Guanabara, Pinheiros secured the third place by defeating Passarinho 13-10 and Vila Parahyba defeated Polo Salvador 9-5, claiming the 5th position.
The individual awards went to Fabio Agazzi from Pinheiros, the competition's top scorer with 24 goals, and Manoel Pacheco from Guanabara, the competition's least leaked goalkeeper.
The competition was organized by CBDA, in partnership with the Pernambuco Aquatic Federation, with the support of the Department of Education and Sports of the Government of Pernambuco.
