División de Honor Masculina I Crónica de la Jornada 7
Seventh matchday of the División de Honor completed, following the earlier match between KEIO CN Sabadell and CE Mediterrani, which ended 17-10. The results were as follows: Zodiac CN At. Barceloneta 20-4 Geodesic Real Canoe, CN Caballa Ciudad de Ceuta 10-11 CN Rubí, CN Terrassa 18-13 Santa Cruz Tenerife Echeyde, EPlus CN Catalunya 4-12 SolarTradex CN Mataró, and CN Barcelona 12-7 CN Sant Andreu.
El Zodiac CN At.-Barceloneta, leader undefeated in the League, opened the male journey in the morning to welcome the Madrid team of Geodesic Real Canoe NC. Curious because Zodiac CNAB's women's team paid a visit to Canoe in Madrid. The players led by Elvis Fatovic gave no chance to their rival because in the first half of the match they went up 10-0 (5-0 and 5-0) at half-time. They slowed down a lot in the third quarter (4-3) but everything is 'sold' in Sant Sebastià.
And we go to Ceuta, where the most equalized match of the day took place. CN Caballa received CN Rubí and the truth is that the match responded somewhat to expectations, specifically in the final part. Despite the 1-5 initial lead in favor of the Catalans, the Ceutan team made an effort despite the current against them and even though after three quarters they were losing by three (8-11), in the final quarter a 2-0 put fear in the visitors, who could not afford to lose a match that was very dominated at the beginning.
Meanwhile, CN Terrassa and Santa Cruz Tenerife Echeyde experienced a beautiful duel in the Olympic Area. Dídac Cobacho's team suffered a lot in the first half of the match, with a 7-7 tie that resolved nothing. It was then that the Egarese 'hurricane' arrived in the form of a 6-0 that left everything seen towards a sentence. Striker duel Bargallo (4)-Araya (4).
SolarTradex CN Mataró reached nine points - the third victory in the League - after winning at EPlus CN Catalunya by 4-12. The latter remains at the bottom against a rival that was already winning 1-5 at half-time. Víctor González's team was very serious, dominating their opponent at all times.
Finally, as we mentioned in the preview, a Barcelona derby at the Nova Escullera between CN Barcelona and CN Sant Andreu. The dean of Spanish water polo, who had just defeated Panathinaikos in a great Eurocup duel, tied 5-5 at half-time with the well-placed troops of Juan Carlos Sanchón, but in the second half a 7-2 tilted the balance in favor of the hosts.
