No. 5 Pacific Hosts WCC Title Match Saturday against No. 9 Pepperdine on Senior Day - University of the Pacific

STOCKTON, Calif. – The West Coast Conference regular season championship is on the line Saturday when the No. 5 Pacific men's water polo program hosts No. 9 Pepperdine at 1 p.m. on Senior Day at the Eberhardt Aquatics Center.

The Tigers (17-1, 5-0 WCC) and the Waves (20-6, 5-0 WCC) square off in a battle of the two unbeaten programs in conference play. After the match, there will be a trophy ceremony for the winning team.

The WCC is in just its second year of sponsoring men's water polo championships. Pacific won multiple Golden Coast Conference championships, most recently with the regular season and tournament titles in 2022.

After the trophy ceremony, the Tigers will hold a Senior Day ceremony for 13 student-athletes. It includes Jeremie Cote, Reuel D'Souza, Oliver Fodor, Bae Fountain, Srboljub Filipovic, Cooper Gaderson, Lewis Gale, Gil Gvishi, Zsombor Gyemant, Matthew Hosmer, Stefan Vavic, Mihailo Vukazic and Patrick Wooler.

The Tigers are going for their first unbeaten season in conference since 2019 when they went 5-0 in the GCC. It was their third consecutive GCC regular season title at the time.

Vukazic leads the team with 56 goals and is a three-time WCC Player of the Week winner. Hosmer is second on the team in scoring with 37 goals and has tallied a hat trick in four of the last six games.

Cote is coming off a huge match with six goals and an assist in an 18-13 win at No. 16 Cal Baptist last weekend. Cote has scored in five consecutive games.

The Tigers have won six of the last seven matches against the Waves. They haven't lost to Pepperdine at home since 2016.

Pacific will host the West Coast Conference Championships on Nov. 22-24. The winner of Saturday's game will lock-up the No. 1 seed and a first round bye to the semifinals.
