Sarah C. Ellerton ’10 Among 2024 Macalester College Hall of Fame Selections
ST. PAUL, Minn. – Macalester College Athletics and the M Club has announced the addition of six new members to the Macalester Hall of Fame. The inductees are Vanessa Seljeskog (coach/administrator), Leo Pearce ’91 (swimming & diving), Armin Heuberger ’99 (soccer), Grace King ’09 (soccer), Sona Muzikarova ’09 (volleyball) and Sarah C. Ellerton ’10 (water polo/swimming & diving).
The 43rd annual Hall of Fame Banquet and induction ceremony will be held on Friday, September 27 at 6:00 p.m. in the Alexander G. Hill Ballroom in Kagin Commons. For more information, contact the Macalester College Alumni Engagement Office at alumnioffice@macalester.edu or 651-696-6295.
Ellerton starred for the water polo team during her four years at Macalester and still holds the program’s all-time record for goals in a career with 295. She burst onto the scene in 2007 with 92 goals, then a school record, and received All-America Honorable Mention to go with All-Region honors. After repeating on the All-Region team as a sophomore, Ellerton was named the 2009 Co-Midwest Region Player of the Year along with teammate Sophia Shaw ’09. As a senior in 2010, she topped her own school record with 96 goals and set the standard for steals with 111, two records that still stand today. That year Ellerton received All-America Honorable Mention for the second time in her career while earning All-Region and All-Conference (CWPA) accolades. Also a member of the swimming & diving teams, she swam on the Scots’ school-record relay teams in the 200- and 400-yard freestyle relays while also serving as team captain.
A native of Suffield, Conn., and a graduate of Suffield Academy, she currently serve as the Director of Admission and Financial Aid at the Morristown Beard School (N.J.). She remains involved in athletics as an assistant swimming coach at the institution.
