Croatian Cup Semifinal Pairings: Jadran – Mladost and Jug Adriatic Insurance – Solaris
The qualifying tournament of the Croatian Cup for seniors concluded with the 5th round matches in Split. In the final match, Jadran and Solaris competed for the first place, with no major doubts. The team from Split convincingly won, securing the top spot, which means that their opponent in the Cup semifinal will be Zagreb's Mladost, who finished in second place in the Dubrovnik qualifiers earlier this week.
Of the Saturday evening matches in Split, the first two were for classic prestige. Primorje easily defeated Zadar by 7 goals, with the best scorer being the captain of the young Rijeka team, Tin Brubnjak, with 4 goals.
Maroje Gluhaić, the top scorer of POŠK 1937, also scored the same number of goals in their victory over OVK Split, with a total of 5 goals difference.
In the battle for the top spot, Jadran already led 10-3 at halftime. The Split team had two players scoring four goals each, Duje Cuzzi and Australian Marcus Julian Berehulak.
The Croatian Cup finals will be held in Zagreb, at a pool by the Sava River, on Tuesday and Wednesday, the 26th and 27th of this month. The first day will feature the semifinals, while on Wednesday, the first match of the women's final (Jadran – Mladost) will take place, followed by the men's final later in the evening.
