No. 14 Pennsylvania State University Tops No. 13 United States Military Academy, 18-14, in 2024 Men’s National Collegiate Club Championship Consolation Game
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Louie Porter (Sr., King of Prussia, Pa.) and Matthew Fencel (Sr., Camp Hill, Pa.) both scored five times to share Player of the Game recognition as Mid-Atlantic Division Champion/No. 14-ranked Pennsylvania State University outmaneuvered New York Division Champion/No. 13 the United States Military Academy, 18-14, in a consolation game on the first day of the 2024 Men’s National Collegiate Club Championship.
Competing at the University of Florida’s Anne Marie Rogers Swimming & Diving Pool at the O’Connell Center, the Nittany Lions outscored the Cadets by counts of 4-3 and 6-3 in the first and fourth quarters, respectively, while the two teams played even in the second and third quarters with three and five goals outputs in the frames.
Courtesy the win, PSU advances to face Northwest Division Champion/No. 14 the University of Oregon on Saturday, November 9, at 2:50 p.m. with a berth in the Ninth Place game on the line. Army drops into a 13th/15th place game at 9:50 p.m. on November 9, as the Cadets will meet Missouri Valley Division Champion Iowa State University.
