Men’s Water Polo Travels To Santa Barbara For Final Conference Game Of Regular Season
With a win Long Beach State can secure the third seed for the Big West Championships.

LONG BEACH, Calif. – No. 10 Long Beach State will play their last Big West match as they face No. 14 UC Santa Barbara this Saturday at Noon. The Beach currently ranks third at the Big West standings as the Gauchos are in fifth. The game will decide the final standings heading into the Big West Championships hosted by UC Davis from November 21st through the 23rd.
The Beach (15-9, 2-2 Big West) enters Saturday's contest having finished their homestand last weekend as they defeated Cal State Fullerton on Senior Night, 16-4. On Sunday, the Beach hosted two exhibition matches as they defeated Long Beach City College, 18-7 and Golden West College, 17-7. Newcomer Gabi Acosta continues his impressive freshman year leading the team with 47 goals, 25 earned ejections and added 18 steals so far. Acosta netted four goals in four shots against the Titans. Sophomore Caleb Francisco also added four goals on the win. Francisco scored eight goals on the last three conference games while Acosta added nine, with the last two games having a perfect shooting percentage.
The Gauchos (14-10, 1-3 Big West) are coming off from a loss at UC San Diego, 16-8. Redshirt Junior Brock Zamanian leads the team in the season with 47 goals and 38 assists while senior Adam Gyenis has 42 goals and 32 assists so far. UC Santa Barbara is led on defense by redshirt junior Levi Lentin with 164 saves, 11 assists and 30 steals.
Saturday's contest will be played at Dos Pueblos HS in Santa Barbara, Calif. at Noon. Live stream will be provided by ESPN+ and live stats will be available at thefosh.net.
