Champions | The Spanish 'armada' returns to the forefront in a day with a direct duel
Second day of the group stage of the Women's Champions League. And our four representatives return to the forefront after a first date with good sensations and with three victories and one defeat. In this second wave of matches next Saturday, a direct duel (Astralpool CN Sabadell-CN Terrassa at 12:30). Also: UVSE Budapest-CN Sant Andreu (18:00) and Assolim CN Mataró-Ferencvaros (13:00).
Starting with that great derby, which moves to European competitions, the region of Vallès Occidental will vibrate with the duel between the teams of its two co-capitals. Astralpool CN Sabadell is the big favorite, for playing at home, for their great victory in the first date against Dunaujvaros and for their potential. David Palma's team has won everything this season, including the European Super Cup where they dominated Padova.
On the other side, Jordi Millán's team debuted in the continental competition losing at home to Greek Vouliagmeni (11-16) in a match where they were always behind on the scoreboard. In the league, the team from Terrassa has won all four games played.
At Joan Serra de Mataró (13:00), Dani Ballart's team hosts a strong Ferencvaros. The Maresme team, who claimed a comeback victory in the Netherlands against Polar Bears (14-16), will look to maintain the positive momentum of the Iberdrola League (4/4 so far) and take a significant step towards qualifying for the Champions League quarter-finals. On the other hand, in the first round, the Hungarians won 9-6 against Plebiscito Padova at home.
In Budapest (18:00), CN Sant Andreu aims for a clean sweep of wins in a Group D they lead following their convincing 18-5 win in the first round against another Hungarian team, BVSC. Javi Aznar's team, who have gathered 9 out of 12 points in the Iberdrola League, know that they can take a significant step forward if they win in Hungarian territory.
