A2 M - The season of returns. Ruggero Faro is a new player for Giorgini Ottica Muri Antichi
The last-minute move came just before the start of the championship and could only be a return, a leitmotif of Giorgini Ottica Muri Antichi's reinforcement campaign, which will benefit from the performances of Ruggero Faro. He played all his youth matches in Muri's cap teams before returning to the base at a more mature and aware time. A player from the '90s class, he can play various roles and will bring experience and a great desire to get back in the game to serve the team.
"Welcoming back our Ruggero after many years fills me with joy," admits the number one of Muri Antichi Luigi Spinnicchia. "Another product of our youth academy who, due to his studies, played in less challenging leagues as a protagonist. He is of great technical level and human quality. I am sure he will be the pleasant surprise of our roster and will give us a great hand thanks to his talent, tactical intelligence, and experience."
"I am very happy to be back at Muri Antichi," says Ruggero Faro. "I meet many from the old guard here, including Aurelio, whom I have known for years, and many members of the management. I feel at home. I am very curious to return to play in a Serie A2 championship, which I haven't played in 7 years. I hope to contribute to the team. I have been warmly welcomed by the group, noting the harmony from the first moment both in and out of the pool. We are working very hard to be ready; we want to achieve some satisfaction and would like to compete with everyone."
Ruggero's idea was born after several weeks of training," says coach Aurelio Scebba. "It arose from the need to fill a missing slot. Talking with Andrea Scirè, his name came up, and it was an opportunity to seize. An exceptional person and a player capable of excellent strategies, he can play both on the right and left. Despite starting late, he immediately integrated into the team dynamics; he seems to have been there forever. He deserves to face an important experience like that in Serie A2."
"After many years, a son of Muri Antichi returns," says DS Andrea Scirè. "It makes me personally happy because I know his worth. I am convinced that Ruggero can help us. A last-minute addition that was very much desired by Aurelio and approved by me. He is a complete water polo player; due to extra-sporting motivations, he has played in categories that do not belong to him, and I am sure that Serie A2 is the most suitable dimension for an athlete who combines technical and human qualities like few others."
