Novi Beograd better than Radnički to continue triumphant streak
The central event on the domestic water polo scene last week was the big Serbian derby in the sixth round of the Regional League. Novi Beograd defeated Radnički 14:10 at their home pool.
Premier Regional League, sixth round
Novi Beograd achieved victory over Radnički primarily thanks to an excellent start to the match. After the first quarter, they led 4:0, and at the beginning of the second quarter, Đorđe Vučinić scored for 5:0. Radnički scored their first goal only in the 10th minute, with former Novi Beograd player Radomir Drašović finding the net. However, Kragujevčani, playing without the injured Strahinja Rašović, never managed to reduce the gap. Novi Beograd's lead was never less than four goals, and by the end of the third quarter, Živko Gocić's team had a lead of "+7" (11:4).
The most effective player for Novi Beograd was Greek Vlahopulos with three goals, followed by his compatriot Skumpakis, Dutch Gbadamasi, Montenegrin Miroslav Perković, and Nikola Lukić with two goals each, while Ćuk, Vučinić, and Dimitrijević each scored once. Radnički's scorers were Radomir Drašović with 3 goals, Georgian Valiko Dadvani with 2, and Janković, Antić, Stanojević, Vasić, and Murišić with 1 each.
