MOL Women's OB I: Dunaújváros won a huge battle, KSI also won
A great match ended in favor of Dunaújváros at BVSC's home, with Kriszta Garda's last-minute action goal. The other highlighted news was the newcomer KSI's easy victory over Tatabánya - the usual: UVSE-Helia D and FTC-Telekom both achieved significant victories, while DiGi-Eger triumphed in Szeged.
In the match of the day, the two Champions League participants, BVSC and Dunaújváros, engaged in a tough battle. The hosts took control early, jumping to a 4-1 lead, but Dunaújváros managed to equalize before the end of the first quarter. In the second part, BVSC once again scored four goals in a row, taking a 9-6 lead at halftime. However, their rivals caught up in the third quarter, after trailing 9-6, they managed to score three consecutive goals - but in the last 36 seconds, BVSC scored two home goals, leading 11-9 heading into the final quarter. The final quarter started with a missed penalty by Dunaújváros, followed by quick goal exchanges, and with 36 seconds remaining, BVSC was still leading by two goals. Dominika Kardos then equalized with an advantage goal, and Dobi Dorina, in great form, scored her sixth goal to level the score once again at 12-12, leaving 3:20 minutes for the decision.
There was a missed home powerplay, two saved home shots, with Garda Kriszta's breakthrough with 1:12 left to play, sealing the match as the railwaywomen missed a second advantage at the end.
The newcomer KSI secured their first victory, quickly dominating and scoring five goals in the first eight minutes against Tatabánya. Their momentum faded in the second quarter as the visitors closed the gap to 5-4, then quickly turned the game around at the start of the third quarter. It didn't last long, as Amira Kemény converted two penalties in 41 seconds, reversing the match back to 7-6 for the last quarter.
After a five-minute intense battle, the KSI managed to score first, with Kincső Kenéz hitting a free throw, followed by a penalty opportunity at 1:22, which Kenéz converted, sealing the match. Kemény scored her fifth goal at the end, completing a 5-0 run for KSI to claim all three points, as the visitors failed to score in the last 13:26 minutes.
There were no similar thrills in the other matches, although Eger had a tougher time against Szeged than expected, leading only 3-2 at halftime - but they eventually settled what they had to in the second half.
The UVSE and Fradi also solved their matches in the first eight minutes: the purple-yellows started with a 6-0 run at Kerület, while Fradi sailed to a comfortable 8-1 lead against Szentes.
