Men’s Water Polo Hosts Cal State Fullerton For Senior Night
The Beach will end their homestand with two exhibition games on Saturday.

LONG BEACH, Calif. – No. 11 Long Beach State will host three final games at the Ken Lindgreen Aquatics Center this weekend. The Beach will host Cal State Fullerton at 7 p.m. continuing Big West play. On Saturday two exhibition matches will be played as they face Long Beach City College at 10 a.m. and Golden West College at Noon.
On Friday night the Beach will honor their seniors Evan Cain, Riley Catino, Bruno Chiappini, Nikola Jancic, Liam Ward and Aaron Wilson as they play their last games at home.
The Beach (14-9, 1-2 Big West) are coming off a big win at home in sudden death overtime against No. 13 UC San Diego, 13-12. Sophomore Caleb Francisco netted three goals including the game winner to help Long Beach State get their first conference win. Gabi Acosta and Evan Cain also recorded hat tricks in the win and senior Aaron Wilson collected 11 saves.
With a mix of young players and experienced returners, the Beach continues their 2024 campaign. Freshmen center duo, Gabi Acosta and Corbin Stanley continue to impress in their first season for the Beach with 43 and 41 goals, respectively. Seniors Evan Cain and Bruno Chiappini continue another great season for the Beach. Cain ranks third on the team with 40 goals and Chiappini fourth with 35. On defense, senior goalkeepers Liam Ward and Aaron Wilson have combined for over 200 saves on the year.
The Titans (11-14, 0-3 Big West) have lost their past two home games as they hosted No. 10 UC Davis in Big West play, dropping the contest 19-12 and falling to No. 9 Pepperdine 15-6. Cal State Fullerton is led by senior Togan Ozbek with 44 goals and 26 assists so far, and senior Julian Nichols with 41 goals. On defense, senior Garrett Henderson has 142 saves and 33 steals.
After facing the Titans, the Beach will host Long Beach City College (16-5) at 10 a.m. followed by Golden West College (28-3) at Noon in two exhibition matches. These two then play each other at 2 p.m.
