Water Polo World Cup Draw

The Dutch men's water polo team will participate in the first round of the World Aquatics Water Polo World Cup from December 18 to 21 in Istanbul. Coached by Harry van der Meer, the team has been placed in Division 2 and will play in Pool D against the host country, Turkey, and Slovakia, as revealed by today's draw.
The three other pools of Division 2 are as follows:
Pool A: South Africa, Iran, Kazakhstan.
Pool B: Portugal, Great Britain, China.
Pool C: Malta, Singapore, Germany.
The top two teams from each pool will advance to the quarterfinals, and ultimately the two finalists of the Istanbul tournament will qualify for the World Cup Super Final to be held in Berlin in April 2025.
Women
The Dutch women's team will also participate in the World Cup. From January 14 to 19, Oranje will compete in Division 1 in Alexandroupoli, Greece, against all top nations from the Olympics and Israel (promoted from Division 2 last season).
Oranje is placed in Pool B with Israel, Italy, and Australia. Pool A consists of Greece, United States, Spain, and Hungary.
The top 2 teams from each pool will then continue to compete for places 1 to 4, while the 3rd and 4th place teams will vie for positions 5 to 8. The top 6 teams from the tournament in Greece will proceed to the Super Final in Berlin.
