Olympiacos defeated by Savona, 10-9 in Piraeus
Olympiacos fought hard but couldn't overcome the obstacle of the Italian team Savona, losing 10-9 in the 3rd matchday of the Champions League group stage on Wednesday night in the Piraeus swimming pool.
Despite the effort and the presence of their major summer acquisition, Hungarian Gergo Zalanki, who made his debut wearing the red and white cap in Europe, the Piraeus team couldn't secure their third win in Group D and remained on 5 points.
The visitors had intervals of 1 and 2 goal leads, went up 10-8, and Olympiacos's top scorer, Dinos Genidounias (with 4 goals), narrowed the gap to 10-9 just before the final whistle.
