No. 5 Fordham University Finishes 2024 Julian Fraser Memorial Tournament by Aceing the United States Air Force Academy, 25-16
SAN JOSE, Calif. – The No. 5-ranked Fordham University water polo team completed its first-ever California road trip sweep by finishing 6-0 on the trek following a 25-16 win against the United States Air Force Academy at the Julian Fraser Memorial Tournament.
Overall, the Rams improved to 21-0 on the year, the lone undefeated team in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).
The Rams came out firing in the opening quarter against the Falcons, scoring nine times for a 9-4 lead. Andras Toth and Luca Provenziani each had first quarter hat tricks, while Lucas Nieto Jasny, James Oriskovich and Balazs Berenyi had the other three markers.
Fordham extended the advantage to 13-6 by halftime, as Toth scored two more times with Berenyi and Luca Silvestri also netting goals in the frame.
The Rams added 12 more tallies in the second half for the 25-16 win.
Toth was the big performer of the match, posting six goals and four assists, while Provenziani had five goals and three assists. Berenyi added three goals and an assist with Silvestri having two goals and three assists.
