A1 M - first seasonal trip to the "Scandone" in Naples, Trieste faces Posillipo
MIRARCHI: "DIFFICULT FIELD AND TRICKY OPPONENT"
First seasonal trip for Pallanuoto Trieste in the men's A1 series championship. On Friday, October 25, in the advance of the third round of the national top tournament, the Alabardati will be guests of Cn Posillipo. The match will be played at "Felice Scandone" in Naples, with kickoff at 7:30 pm, live streaming on the Facebook page of the Neapolitan club. The match officials are Riccardo D'Antoni from Siracusa and Arnaldo Petronilli from Rome.
The team sponsored by Samer & Co. Shipping faces this challenge with six points earned in the first two rounds and positive indications gathered against Nuoto Catania and Training Academy. Last Saturday's victory against Capitolini, secured 3 seconds before the end, transmitted enthusiasm but also the awareness of how every opponent can hide dangers and pitfalls. "We are preparing the match against Posillipo with the utmost concentration, aware that the difficulties will increase playing away from home," explains coach Maurizio Mirarchi. "There is a possibility that the final result will also be conditioned by individual episodes, and we will have to be skilled enough to make them work in our favor. We are aware of our abilities and we want to continue our growth path." No changes are expected in the lineup, the same thirteen players who defeated Olympic will take to the pool at "Scandone."
The Alabardati will face a prestigious and storied opponent. Posillipo boasts 11 national titles and 3 Champions League trophies, and on the bench, they have the vast experience of Pino Porzio, one of the most decorated coaches around and Olympic gold medallist in Barcelona 1992 with Settebello. Among the players, left-hander Nicola Cuccovillo, veterans Paride Saccoia and Giuliano Mattiello stand out for their danger, and goalkeeper Roberto Spinelli, born in 2003, is a solid presence. The only foreign player available to Porzio is Serbian defender Milos Milicic.
