Tigers Sweep NWPC Weekly Awards
PRINCETON, N.J.- The Princeton men's water polo team returned to the Garden State after a week long trip in California. The Tigers competed against several top-ten programs on the trip and pulled out wins over No. 7/9 Pepperdine and No. 8/9 Cal.
Thanks to strong performances across the week, Princeton swept the Northeast Water Polo Conference weekly honors.
Roko Pozaric was named Player of the Week after recording 10 goals, five assists and four steals. In the win over Pepperdine, Pozaric tallied a hat trick on his way to breaking the program career goals record. He notched four goals in the men's program's first ever win over Cal.
Kristóf Kovács earned his fifth Defensive Player of the Week recognition thanks to a .500 save percentage across four games. The Princeton keeper recorded a season high 16 saves against both No. 3 USC and Cal.
Tas Palcza was named the Rookie of the Week for the second time this season. Palcza tallied six goals with a hat trick versus Cal. He also added two assists and a steal on the week.
The Tigers are set to host their final regular season home games on Nov. 2 against LIU and Iona. The time is set for 12:00 PM and 5:00 PM respectively.
