Šapčani convincingly into the quarterfinals of the Serbian Cup
The water polo team from Šabac has advanced to the quarterfinals of the Serbian Cup after convincingly beating Nais 15-8 in the first match of the round of 16. The remaining three round of 16 matches are scheduled for Wednesday, with Valis facing Beograd (19:00), Stari Grad against NBG Vukovi (19:30), and Sava playing against Vojvodina (20:30).
The direct quarterfinalists are Novi Beograd, Radnički, Crvena zvezda, and Partizan.
The Šapčani justified their role as favorites against the team from Niš, who started their season tonight after having been off in the first two rounds of the Regional A1 League. Šabac took a 4-2 lead in the first period, then doubled their advantage by halftime (7-3), and definitively settled the matter in the third quarter when they went up 12-4.
