Olympiacos beats Apollon Smyrnis 15-6 with tight defense and goes "2 out of 2" (pics)
With its granite-like defense as its main weapon, but also pluralistic offensive solutions, Olympiacos prevailed with a 15-6 score against Apollon Smyrnis on Sunday noon (20/10) at the National Swimming Pool of Piraeus, for the 2nd matchday of Group B of the Men's A1 Water Polo Championship.
The red-and-whites coached by Hrvoye Koljanin dominated in all areas, creating an early lead and increasing it until the final whistle to secure their second victory in the championship.
Zalanki was the top scorer with 4 goals. According to the match report: At 5:41 before the end of the 3rd period, Solanakis of Apollon and Papanastasiou of Olympiacos were expelled with a red card and substitution. Earlier, at 3:46 of the 2nd period, Gouvias and Foskolos had been dismissed.
