Dominant Amersfoort team takes points home from Gouda
In an exciting and captivating game, the men of ZPC Amersfoort won against GZC Donk last night. After leading throughout the entire match, the team captained by Sebastiaan van Mill won 10-13. The period scores were: 0-3, 5-6, 7-9, 10-13
ZPC Amersfoort had a strong start and took the lead within the first minute through Jorren Hanselaar. The same Hanselaar doubled the lead after the early advantage. Jort van der Werve extended the lead to 0-3, ensuring an excellent start to the game. In the second period, the away team scored quickly again. The Gouda water polo players gained more momentum in the second quarter and fought back to 5-6.
Coach Mark Siewers' team managed to withstand the pressure from Donk in the third and fourth periods, keeping it tight at the back while continuing to score. The Amersfoort team had an excellent game with fast and efficient attacks. Captain van Mill looks back on a successful evening.
"It was a great game for us! We were solid defensively and from there we made good counters! We led throughout the match and were able to extend the lead to five goals difference in the final stages. We played it out efficiently."
