Collegiate Water Polo Association Releases 2024 Week 5/October 17 Men’s Collegiate Club Top 20 & Division III Top 10 Polls

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the 2024 Men’s Collegiate Club Top 20 and Division III Top 10 Week 5/October 17 Polls.

Released each week during the season, the Top 20 and Division III Top 10 polls have no bearing on qualifiers for either the National Collegiate Club Championship or the Division III Collegiate Club Championship.

2024 Men’s Collegiate Club National Top 20 (Week 5/October 17)

The University of California-San Diego and the University of California-Los Angeles gain a new partner at No. 1 in the national rankings as the University of California-Davis goes from unranked to No. 1 in the Week 5/October 17 Men’s Collegiate Club National Top 20 Poll.

UC-San Diego (94 points), UCLA (94 points) and UC-Davis (94 points) lead a Top 20 which experiences radical changes following the Week 4 competition.

The University of Florida (74 points) – which was tied with UC-San Diego, UC-Davis and the University of California at No. 1 last week – slips to No. 4 with the University of California-Santa Barbara (72 points) breaking into the Top 10 at No. 5.  Michigan State University (69 points) rises to No. 6 with California Polytechnic State University (68 points) and California (68 points) tying at No. 7.  San Diego State University (58 points) and the University of Michigan (51 points) conclude the Top 10 as the Aztecs and Wolverines slide back to No. 9 and 10.

Texas A&M University (48 points), previously unranked the Georgia Institute of Technology (41 points), the United States Military Academy (39 points), the University of Colorado (37 points) and the University of Virginia (34 points) rate at No. 11-to-15, while Boston University (27 points), previously unranked Arizona State University (20 points), Boise State University (12 points) and the University of Notre Dame (10 points) take over at No. 16-to-19.

The University of Oregon (9 points) and Pennsylvania State University (9 points) conclude the Week 5 Top 20 by tying for the final position.

2024 Men’s Division III Collegiate Club National Top 10 (Week 5/October 17)

The 2024 Week 5/October 17 Men’s Division III Collegiate Club National Top 10 Poll experiences no changes from the Week 4/October 10 voting due to limited action in the Division III ranks last week.

A seven-time Division III Collegiate Club National Champion, Washington University in St. Louis (95 points) retains a one-point lead over both Augustana College (94 points) and the University of California-Santa Cruz (94 points), while Tufts University (86 points) and the United States Coast Guard Academy (79 points) complete the Top Five.

Amherst College (76 points), New York University (70 points), Bowdoin College (66 points), Carnegie Mellon University (46 points) and Bates College (35 points) again complete the Top 10.
