A1 F - Emotion in Lazio: Everything is ready for the first in Women's A1!
On Saturday, October 19, at 6:30 pm, S.S. Lazio Nuoto starts a new, wonderful adventure. It is a first time in its glorious and long history: the white and blue club makes its debut in the national women's Serie A1 championship. At Centro Sportivo Le Cupole, the magnificent girls of coach Iacopo Spagnoli host Bogliasco, in what - even on matchday 1 - is already a very important challenge for survival.
This is exactly the stated goal of the eagles led by president Massimo Moroli, newly promoted to the top flight after a fantastic ride last season. But it is no longer time to live off memories: now it's serious, and Lazio Nuoto must be ready to compete on par with the greats of Italian women's water polo. Captain Chiara Tori and teammates have just broken the ice in the preliminary round of the Italian Cup, returning from Padua with good signs. And right there, they have already faced Bogliasco, beating them 10-6. However, it would be wrong to think it will be the same game.
The words of Lazio Nuoto coach, Iacopo Spagnoli: "The girls can't wait for tomorrow to come. We have great desire and the right emotion to start this new adventure. The Italian Cup was a fundamental stepping stone for the start of the championship. We faced four important realities in our group, gaining experience in a different context from what we were used to. The game times, physicality, and intensity seen in the Cup are evidence that attention can never be lowered during the four game quarters, because in an elite championship like Serie A1, mistakes come at a high cost."
The white and blue coach adds: "We will face Bogliasco, a team with a great tradition and a young, well-trained roster. We beat them in the Cup, but as I've already told the girls, Saturday will be a completely different game. We expect a difficult match, and we will try to give our all to do well and make our fans happy."
Remember that you can attend the match at Centro Sportivo Le Cupole in Via Gino Bonichi 17 for free. The match will also be broadcast live on S.S. Lazio Nuoto's YouTube channel.
