A1 F – Cosma Vela Ancona Saturday at Passetto with the champions of Orizzonte Catania
The wait is over, Saturday afternoon at 2:30 PM Cosma Vela Ancona returns to the water for the first women's A1 championship match against the reigning champions Ekipe Orizzonte Catania. An uneven match for the girls of coach Milko Pace, newly promoted from Serie A2, but also a welcome return to the Passetto swimming pool for an official match after the spring closure and the A2 playoffs still played at the Saline di Senigallia pool. Cosma Vela Ancona returns home, but without the possibility of hosting spectators: the match will still be broadcast live on the club's YouTube channel. "In the last weekend of the Italian Cup in Catania, after the first match against Orizzonte, we had a good performance against Rapallo, played very well against Trieste for a long time, and then perhaps we lacked physical and mental energy to play four matches in 48 hours. Because Cosenza definitely has something more than us, but 20 goals conceded are too many, we need to improve a lot in the defensive phase. But we also saw that when we stay focused we know how to create problems for our opponents." And it is with this spirit that Altamura and her teammates prepare to face the daunting match against Orizzonte Catania on Saturday afternoon, especially with the top scorer Altamura not in the best condition due to an elbow problem suffered last weekend in Sicily: "We know that for us it is quite a challenging commitment," concludes coach Milko Pace, "where I will mainly focus on continuing what we did in the Cup and what we discussed after those four matches." The nine opponents of Cosma Vela Ancona in this second adventure in A1, returning after the years of Covid, will be: Bogliasco, Brizz Nuoto Acireale, Cosenza, Ekipe Orizzonte Catania, Trieste, Plebiscito Padova, Rapallo, Sis Roma, and Lazio Nuoto.
