Panionios achieves comeback victory against NO Vouliagmeni in "civil war" at Laimos, 10-9
Panionios secured a significant away victory in the Greek "civil war" of the 2nd matchday of the Euro Cup men's water polo group stage, overturning NO Vouliagmeni in Laimos with a 10-9 score.
The match was thrilling until the end, with NOV leading by three goals at halftime. Panionios then quickly narrowed the gap with a 2-0 run. The expulsion of Woodhead, 7 minutes and 20 seconds before the end, turned out to be decisive for the game's outcome, as Panionios seized the opportunity and with fast attacks managed to equalize at 8-8 and 9-9. Eventually, they secured the win with a goal by Alexandros Gounas, 54 seconds before the end.
In the next matchday, on Thursday, October 31, Panionios will host Ortigia, while NO Vouliagmeni will be hosted by Vasutas.
