Wagner College Releases 2024 Men’s Water Polo Schedule


STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The Wagner College men’s water polo team announced its 2024 schedule, a 30-game slate that features five home games at the Spiro Sports Center.

The Seahawks will begin their campaign at the Bruno Classic hosted by Brown University and Harvard University for the fourth consecutive season, with matchups against Harvard and Iona University taking place on September 7, followed by matchups with the United States Air Force Academy and Long Island University on September 8.

Wagner will then take on a trio of California teams at the Princeton Invitational hosted by Princeton University on September 13-15. The Seahawks will take on the University of California-San Diego on September 13, before facing off against University of the Pacific the following day. The team will close out the weekend on September 15 versus Santa Clara University.  In addition, Wagner is slated to open league play versus Mount St. Mary’s.

The Bucknell Invitational hosted by Bucknell University awaits next with matchups against Gannon University, Mount St. Mary’s University, Johns Hopkins University and a league game against the host Bison on deck. The first home weekend comes next on September 28, when the Seahawks will take on George Washington University and the United States Naval Academy in MAWPC action.

Whittier College will host the Green & White for two matchups on October 3. On October 4 and 5, the Seahawks will participate in the Gary Troyer Tournament in Claremont, Calif., with teams to be determined.

A standalone game against defending MAWPC Champion Fordham University will take place on October 12 in the Bronx before the Seahawks participate in the Harvard Invitational on October 19 and 20 against the University of California-Merced and Mercyhurst University on the 19th along with Chapman University and the host Crimson on the 20th.

Three more MAWPC contests follow as the calendar flips to November. Wagner will navigate the Washington D.C./Baltimore corridor with stops in Baltimore (Johns Hopkins University, November 2), Washington D.C. (George Washington, November 2), and Annapolis (Navy, November 3).

The regular season concludes with three more matches on Grymes Hill. The Seahawks host Fordham for their Green & White game on November 8, prior to hosting Mount St. Mary’s and Bucknell to close out the regular season slate on November 9.

The MAWPC Championship is set for November 22-24 at Navy in Annapolis, Md.
