Serbian female cadets secured a place in the round of 16 of the World Championship

The women's cadet national team of Serbia started with a victory at the World Championship for 16-year-olds in Manisa (Turkey).

The selection led by Ivana Ćorović as a selector defeated New Zealand 11:10 (4:2, 2:1, 3:3, 2:4) in the second round of Group E.

Along with Serbia and New Zealand, the USA team is also in the group, which yesterday defeated the New Zealanders 13:3. Given that the first two national teams advance to the round of 16, the Serbian and American women secured a place among the top 16 even before tomorrow's mutual duel. 22 national selections are participating in the tournament.

Serbia led from the very beginning of the duel with the New Zealanders, who managed to equalize only once - 1:1.  A little more than two minutes before the end, Ivana Ćorović's team led 11:7, and then allowed their rivals to get closer, but still saved all three points.

Goals for Serbia were scored by Maša Čuk 4, Nika Ratković 3, Elena Ćuk 2, Vjera Bulajić and Mina Branković

In the selection of Serbia in Manisa - goalkeepers: Emilija Jovanović (Palilula), Vanja Đurić (Vojvodina), players in the field: Iva Kovačević (Spartak), Irina Trbanos (Taš 2000), Vjera Bulajić (South), Danica Balać ( Palilula), Maša Ćuk (Dunajvaroš), Mina Branković (Palilula), Nika Ratković (Palilula), Jana Janković (Taš 2000), Elena Ćuk (Dunajvaroš), Milica Pavić (Taš 2000), Una Jelenić (Taš 2000), Helena Klikovac (Taš 2000), Tara Žagar (Vojvodina).

Ivana Ćorović's colleagues in the professional staff are Ognjen Jovanić, Aleksandra Lazarević, physiotherapist Dragana Ivković, and the team leader is Novica Todosijević. The referee organization of Serbia is represented by Pavle Kiš.

Serbia's rival in the round of 16 will be Italy or China.

Group B: Zimbabwe - Canada 0:13, Canada - Greece 3:22

Group C: Germany - Croatia 8:9, Croatia - France 17:10

Group E: USA - New Zealand 13:3, New Zealand - Serbia 10:11

Group F: Turkey - Australia 2:11

Group G:Ukraine. Spain 2:22, Spain - Malta 19:4

Group H: China - Czech Republic 15:5, Czech Republic - Italy 4:26

Only two teams each participate in groups A and F (due to the withdrawal of Israel and Mexico), so the teams in these groups will meet twice.
