Champions J2 | Heads or tails for Zodiac CNAB and KEIO Sabadell against Jadran and Olympiacos
Zodiac CN At. Barceloneta have clearly defeated Jadran Herceg Novi in Montenegro (8-16), while Astralpool CN Sabadell couldn't beat KEIO CN Sabadell at home against the Greek Olympiacos (8-15) and suffered their first Champions League defeat after the second matchday.
Starting with the victory of Elvis Fatovic's team, a hard-fought and deserved win in a tough pool like Jadran Herceg Novi (8-16). The Montenegrins held up until the long break (4-6 for the sailors). Radovic brought Jadran to just one goal at the start of the third quarter, but from that moment on Fatovic's team took off.
A 5-2 run to reach the halfway point of the match with an advantage (7-11) and a 3-0 run early in the final period sealed the victory. A great team performance by the Barcelona team that now leads Group C with 6/6 points.
Regarding KEIO Sabadell’s match, Quim Colet's team started well in front of their home crowd at Can Llong (3-1 lead in the first quarter), but Olympiacos took control in the second period (0-4) and went into halftime with a two-goal lead (3-5).
After the break, the Sabadell team kept up until Fran Valera's 6-7 goal, but from that moment on the Greeks went on a 4-goal run to secure the victory with eight minutes to go (7-11). In the end, Olympiacos won 8-15, showing why they are title contenders.
