The long-term sports development strategy of the Hungarian Water Polo Federation
One of the important agenda items of the Saturday elective general meeting will be the discussion and hopeful approval of the document entitled "The long-term sports development strategy of the Hungarian Water Polo Federation."
The development of the strategy was preceded by lengthy consultations, and the drafted text has already been reviewed by the clubs - now it is up to the delegates of the general meeting to engage in a "plenary" debate, followed by the hopeful approval of the document (available for download next to the article).
In the introduction to the strategy, Norbert Madaras, the president of the Hungarian Water Polo Federation - who is seeking re-election for another four years - states, among other things: "...the strategy is based on four pillars: sustainability, youth development, improvement of performance, and increasing the popularity of water polo.
In this spirit, we aim to achieve the systematic development of the sports profession, the generalization of health and performance diagnostics, the increase in the number of our sports professionals and the continuous improvement of their quality knowledge. And this needs to be paired with organizational and infrastructural developments, one of the foundations of which is the continuous adaptation of the financing model. Perhaps even more importantly, we must further broaden and deepen the base of the sport, attract more young people to water polo, which requires maintaining and even increasing its current popularity.
In the upcoming two Olympic cycles, we aim to achieve these goals, and I am convinced: the foundations remain solid from where we start - and yes, once again we will find the way to victory."
