Ferencváros convincingly beats Radnički with Mandic in charge
In a match that was announced as a big derby of the second round of the Champions League, Radnički water polo team were defeated at their pool by the current European champion, Ferencváros, with a convincing 12-5 score. The star of the night was the Serbian national team player and top scorer of Ferencváros, Dušan Mandić, who scored four goals, including a particularly impressive lob shot for the 7-3 lead.
Radnički had a good start to the game, scoring in their first two attacks through Strahinja Rašović and Dušan Vasić, and nothing indicated a clear defeat. However, the guests quickly equalized through Vendel Vigvari and Marton Vamoš (2-2), after which there was a "dry period" of almost 10 minutes on both sides. The guests overcame their attacking crisis more quickly and completed the turnaround with three consecutive goals (5-2), after which Lazar Vićković's beautiful shot just before the halftime whistle gave hope to Kragujevac with a score of 5-3.
Another setback for the home team was Strahinja Rašović's third personal foul at the end of the first half, reducing options in attack. On the other side, the guests continued where they left off. They played excellently in defense, utilized their chances in attack, and deservedly achieved their second victory.
Dušan Mandić led the way with four goals, followed by Vendel Vigvari with three and Stilijanos Argiropulos with two, while Radomir Drašović scored two goals for Radnički.
Radnički now turns its focus to the Regional League and the match against Šabac, while their Champions League campaign continues on October 29 with an away game against Dinamo in Georgia.
