LŠ: Marseille better than Jadran, convincing defeat of Vašaš, Primorac won a point in Piraeus
The matches in groups C and D completed the first round of the Champions League for water polo players tonight.
Spanish Barceloneta defeated Vašaš, Slobodan Nikić's team, with a very convincing 18:7, while in the same group, Marseille was better than Jadran from Herceg Novi 13:11. Unfortunately, that match was also marked by a serious injury to the Serbian water polo player, Vuk Milojević, who, as Jadran reported in a short statement, suffered a fracture of the lower jaw and dislocation of three teeth due to a strong blow, so he will have to undergo surgery.
In Group D, Primorac won a big point away from home in Piraeus, as it was defeated by the much better Olympiakos with a score of 20:19 only after five games. Spanish Sabadell defeated Savona 12:10 on the road in Italy.
We remind you, on Tuesday, Novi Beograd beat Steaua 11:7 in group A, and in the same group, Oradea defeated Hanover 11:10 as a guest. In Group B, Ferencvaros outclassed Dinamo Tbilisi 16:7 thanks to Dušan Mandić's two goals, while in an exciting match Radnički in Split was defeated by Jadran after five minutes with a score of 15:13.
As for the Serbian water polo players, Andrija Prlainović scored twice in Marseille's triumph, while Nemanja Vico (Primorac), Đorđe Lazić (Jadran HN) and Nikola Dedović (Vašaš) each scored once. The day before, in addition to Dušan Mandić (Ferencvaroš), Dinamo Tbilisi players Boris Vapenski and Veljko Tankosić also scored.
