A new trophy for Nemanja Stevanović in Finland: Nordic champion title for Cetus
Finnish Cetus, which has been led from the bench by Serbian coach Nemanja Stevanović for several years, won a new trophy, as it was the best in the Nordic Club Championship. Under Stevanović's leadership, Cetus has so far won five cups, was the best in the Championship three times, once in the Finnish Cup, and now has reached the trophy on the international stage.
The final tournament of the club championship of the Nordic countries was played in the Finnish city of Turku, and eight teams from Denmark, Finland, Sweden and Lithuania participated.
Stevanović's club dominated from start to finish. In the competition in the group, they beat Polisen (Sweden) with 19:4, Slagelse (Denmark) 23:5 and Delfinas from Vilnius (Lithuania) with a score of 13:9.
In the final, he met with the Danish KVIK. The Finnish team did not leave a single chance for the rival to achieve victory. Cetus won with 20 goals difference 22:2 (5:1, 6:0, 5:0, 6:1).
Cetusa water polo players also won two individual awards. Miloš Šuberić, former water polo player of Belgrade, Crvena zvezda, Taša, was the best scorer, and Stefan Senić was the best goalkeeper of the tournament.
Final ranking: 1. Cetus (Finland), 2. KVIK (Denmark), 3. Delfinas, Vilnius (Lithuania), 4. Turun Uimarit (Finland), 5. Polisen (Sweden), 6. Kuhat (Finland) , 7. Slagelse (Denmark), 8. Jarfala (Sweden).
