DHM J1 | The best national competition starts with the Zodiac CNAB as the rival to beat
The wait is over. The best club competition at the state level starts this coming weekend. The Men's Honor Division kicks off with 12 clubs looking to give their best version. The big favourite for the title will once again be Zodiac CN At. Barceloneta, who have just won their first national title of the season by beating Astralpool Sabadell in the Super Cup. The matches to be played this Saturday 5th October are: Real Canoe NC-EPlus CN Catalunya (12:00), Santa Cruz Tenerife Echeyde-CN Sant Andreu (11:00), Astralpool CN Sabadell-CN Barcelona (12:45), Zodiac CNAB-CN Rubí (12:45), CN Terrassa-CN Caballa Ciudad de Ceuta (13:00) and CE Mediterrani-SolarTradex CN Mataró (18:00).
Let's start with the match of the reigning champion. Zodiac CN At. Barceloneta, who showed last Sunday in their Sant Sebastià in the Super Cup that they have a great team and that it will be very difficult for anyone to dethrone them. The sailors host a CN Rubí that managed to escape last season and that debuts with a tremendously complicated match (12:45).
Perhaps the best match of this opening day is in Can Llong (12:45). Astralpool CN Sabadell host CN Barcelona. Current runners-up and third in the top category of Spanish water polo. Quim Colet's team maintains a good part of the block, while the dean of Spanish water polo has lost some pieces like Marc Valls, but keeps a good part of its backbone.
The recently promoted CN Caballa-Ciudad de Ceuta travels to the Olympic Area of Terrassa to face CN Terrassa (13:00). The Egarenses want to start with good feelings against a team that, theoretically, is called to fight for permanence.
In Pez Volador (12:00), Real Canoe NC makes its debut in the División de Honor by hosting EPlus CN Catalunya. The Madrid team suffered to maintain their category last year, while 'Cata' was eighth and finished in a quiet part of the classification. First three important points.
In the Islands, Santa Cruz Tenerife Echeyde hosts CN Sant Andreu. Albert Espanyol's team comes from playing the preliminary phase of the LEN Eurocup and will seek to start the League on the right foot against Juan Carlos Sanchón's team, who also comes from playing European competition. The duel, at 11:00 island time.
This first date will close with CE Mediterrani-SolarTradex CN Mataró (18:00). Josep Vallès will be the scene of an even match between one of the revelations of last season, the ‘Medi’ (fourth in the regular phase) and the seventh, Víctor González’s Mataró.
