CHAMPIONS | Terrassa starts with a win and 'Cata' debuts with a loss
CN Terrassa and EPlus CN Catalunya started their journey in the qualifying phase of the LEN Women's Champions League. This Friday, CN Sant Andreu and Tenerife Echeyde will join them. The Egarense team, with many new faces, made its debut with a clear victory over Digi Eger by 10-19, while the Barcelona team fell to the powerful Greek Vouliagmeni by 17-5.
An offensive festival for CN Terrassa in their debut in this preliminary phase of the Champions League. 14 goals between Paula Prats, Isabel Piralkova and Helena Dalmases against the Hungarian Digi Eger and, in addition, in Hungarian lands. A great game for Jordi Millán's team, who were winning 4-10 already at the long break with a goal from Lucía de la Puente before the halfway point.
They continued to hammer the hosts after the restart and left the match sentenced eight minutes from the end with an unappealable 7-14.
Things were much more complicated for EPlus CN Catalunya, who faced Greek side Vouliagmeni in Berlin. The first quarter was already in favour of the Greeks by 4-1. In the second half, the Greeks were 7-1 up, and the match was practically over by the long break (9-3). 'Cata' kept pushing, but the scoreboard already reflected 14-4 at the end of the third period.
