Ryder Dodd Named MPSF West Newcomer of the Week
LOS ANGELES -- UCLA freshman attacker Ryder Dodd (Long Beach, Calif./JSerra Catholic HS) has been named the MPSF West/S&R Sport Newcomer of the Week as announced by the league office today.
Dodd accumulated 16 goals on 20 shots (.800), while adding five steals, three assists, drew two exclusions, and won 6-of-7 sprints through a 16-8 win over No. 12 UCSB, a 21-8 win over No. 15 LMU, and a 21-10 win over (RV) Air Force (Sept. 27-28).
Dodd had a then-career-high five goals vs. UCSB, broke that career-high of six goals on seven shots vs. LMU, before tacking on five more goals against Air Force.
This is the first career MPSF award for Dodd.
