The first step has been taken | Results of the first Eredivisie matchday

Five matches were played yesterday in the first Eredivisie men's competition weekend of the season. At the end of Saturday afternoon, UZSC, with new coach Sebastiaan Brands, kicked off the season well in the Nijverdal of Het Ravijn, with a 9-16 victory. National champion and Supercup winner ZV De Zaan played against PSV an hour later. The Zaandam players started the competition well with a 16-10 win.

Promoted team BZ&PC lost 7-19 at home to De Ham while ZPC Amersfoort was too strong for ZVL-1886 in the Amerena with a 14-11 win. GZC Donk took the full spoils in Barendrecht, Yuri Szeles' team won 8-14 against ZPB H&L Productions.

MNC Dordrecht and Polar Bears did not play yesterday. More extensive match reports with reactions will follow during the day. All standings, results and the programme can be found via this link.
