Collegiate Water Polo Association Releases Changes to 2024 Men’s Collegiate Club Missouri Valley Division Schedule

2024 Men’s Collegiate Club Missouri Valley Division Schedule

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases changes to the 2024 Men’s Collegiate Club Missouri Valley Division schedule following the decision of Saint Louis University to withdraw from the 2024 season on Friday, September 27.

The Saint Louis men’s club team – which will also not host the Saturday-Sunday, October 12-13, weekend as previously announced – is suspended from the entirety of the 2024 and 2025 seasons per league policy.

Now comprised of Illinois State University, Iowa State University, the University of Indianapolis and the University of Missouri, the Missouri Valley Division will contest its 20th season with Western Illinois University (2004), Lindenwood University (2005, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019), Miami University (Ohio) (2007), Saint Louis (2011) and McKendree University (2021, 2022, 2023) each previously capturing the division championship. The 2020 season was not contested due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The schedule for the weekend of Saturday-Sunday, September 28-29, at Iowa State in Ames, Iowa, is revised in consideration of the four remaining teams.  Games on September 28 will use six-minute quarters with sudden death overtime and teams limited to one timeout per half, while contests on September 29 will utilize regulation collegiate club rules.

Due to the October 12-13 weekend being cancelled, the regular season will come to a close back at Iowa State on Saturday, October 26, during the Missouri Valley Division Championship weekend.  The teams will contest six regular season games on October 26 with the contests using six-minute quarters with sudden death overtime and teams limited to one timeout per half.

On Sunday, October 27, the No. 1-to-4 seeds – as determined by both weekends of regular season competition – will meet in the Third and First Place games to decide final placement in the division.

The victor of the division championship claims the group’s automatic bid to the 2024 Men’s National Collegiate Club Championship on Friday-Sunday, November 8-10, at a site to be determined.
