Sabac convincing at the start of the European Cup qualifiers, Valis also starts today
On Thursday, the qualifying round of the European Cup began, in which as many as 36 teams participate, and Serbia is represented by Valis and Šabac, as well as many players in other clubs, including Olympic champions Nemanja Ubović (Vuljagmeni) and Viktor Rašović (Panathinaikos ).Šapčani are the hosts of one of the eight qualifying tournaments, and from Thursday to Sunday, Strasbourg, Dinamo Bucharest, German OSC Potsdam and OSC from Budapest are staying in the city on the Sava. In the first round, Nemanja Ličanin's team defeated OSC Potsdam with 17:8, and at halftime it was already leading with 9:5, so it routinely gained a bigger advantage in the sequel, and the most effective were Ognjen Stojanović and Aljoša Mačić with three goals each.
Valis is visiting Budva, where he will play with the Montenegrin team, then Italian Brescia, Hungarian Honved and Banja Luka. Miloš Saković's team will play its first match on Friday at 17:00 against Breša.
Serbia has a large number of coaches in European competitions this season. Uroš Stevanović (Radnički), Živko Gocić (Novi Belgrade), Dejan Stanojević (Dinamo Tbilisi) and Slobodan Nikić (Vašaš) are in the Champions League.
