CCCWPCA announces Player of the Week honorees for fourth week of the season
SARATOGA - Three top players from three of the 3C2A’s top programs are the CCCWPCA Players of the Week for the week of Sept. 23.
NorCal
Men
West Valley attacker Phil Portisch had yet another monster week, leading the top-ranked Vikings to a 5-0 week, including a 4-0 trip to the ultra-competitive Mt. SAC Invitational. The 5-11 sophomore attacker from Hannover, Germany, totaled 22 goals (shooting 61%), 11 steals, 10 assists and a pair of field blocks in wins over Merced, Palomar, #3 Cuesta, #4 LA Valley and #6 Orange Coast.
Women
Sierra finished the week 3-1, thanks, in large part to Bailey Hollick. The 5-10 2nd-year center from Auckland, New Zealand, recorded 11 goals, eight steals, six assists and a trio of drawn ejections in wins over Grossmont, Palomar and Southwestern and a tough loss to #7 San Diego Miramar. Against Palomar, Hollick posted five goals, four assists, two steals and a drawn ejection.

Women
Kate Densmore gave up an average of only 5.75 goals-per-game in four games for two-time defending champion Santa Barbara City College. She totaled 29 saves and 16 steals over 14 quarters for the 3rd-ranked Vaqueros, including 12 saves and seven steals in a thrilling 7-6 loss to top-ranked Riverside City. The 5-10 sophomore keeper from Sacramento’s Rio Americano High School showed her versatility with a goal in a Western St. Conference win over Citrus.
Men
There were no CCCWPCA nominations the SoCal Men’s Player of the Week.
