B M – Enrico Calcaterra returns to Pescara
Enrico Calcaterra, a 1998-born forward who has already worn the white and blue colors from 2018 to 2020, is back wearing the Pescara Nuoto e Pallanuoto cap. For the white and blue club, this is the second important transfer reinforcement, after the signing of Gigi Foglio.
Son of Roberto and nephew of Gabirele Pomilio, Calceterra embraces the ambitious project that the white and blue club led by president Stefania Scolta is setting up, with the aim of bringing the team back to Serie A2. After all, Calcaterra's CV speaks for itself: after the youth team in Brescia (with his debut in A1 at 15 years old) he played with Florentia, always in the top league, and then went down to A2 first with Civitavecchia and then with Roma Nuoto, with whom he won the tournament. In 2019, with Pescara he reached the promotion play-offs in A2, then Roma Vis Nova, Olympic Roma and Anzio Waterpolis, always in A2.
Now the return to what in some ways can be defined as his home, given the past and the affections that bind Enrico Calcaterra with the city of Pescara. The testimony comes from his first words in white and blue: "I am happy and proud to return to play for the team of the city where I was born. There are all the cards in order to bring Pescara water polo back to high levels, a place that certainly deserves it". And again: "I made this decision also with my heart in memory of my grandfather Gabriele Pomilio. Mine was not only a sporting choice but also a life choice, Pescara is the city where I want to settle and build my working future.
Here I find friends and teammates with whom I will share this common goal and a new coach with whom there was an immediate understanding. There are all the conditions for an ambitious and rewarding season”.
Enrico Calcaterra is already available to mister Paolo Baiardini, with whom he has begun preparation for the start of the new season.
