Collegiate Water Polo Association Releases 2024 Week 2/September 26 Men’s Collegiate Club Top 20 & Division III Top 10 Polls

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the 2024 Men’s Collegiate Club Top 20 and Division III Top 10 Week 2/September 26 Polls.

Released each week during the season, the Top 20 and Division III Top 10 polls have no bearing on qualifiers for either the National Collegiate Club Championship or the Division III Collegiate Club Championship.

2024 Men’s Collegiate Club National Top 20 (Week 2/September 26)

Two weeks into the 2024 men’s collegiate club season and defending National Champion the University of California-San Diego gains company at No. 1 as the University of California ties the Tritons for the top spot in the Week 2/September 26 Men’s Collegiate Club National Top 20 Poll.

UC-San Diego (94 points) and California (94 points) – which previously was tied with the University of Florida (92 points) at No. 2 last week – retain a narrow lead over the Gators with fall two points shy of making the No. 1 position a three-way tie.

The University of Michigan (81 points) cracks the Top 10 by moving up even positions to tie with California Polytechnic State University (81 points) at No. 4.  The Wolverines rise forces the University of California-Los Angeles (68 points) and Michigan State University (67 points) back to No. 6 and 7, respectively, with San Diego State University (64 points), the University of Virginia (58 points) and Washington University in St. Louis (56 points) taking over at No. 8-to-10.

Pennsylvania State University (45 points), previously unranked Cornell University (42 points), the University of California-Santa Barbara (36 points), the United States Military Academy (31 points) and previously unranked Boston University (30 points) achieve No. 11-to-15 berths.

The University of Colorado (20 points) moves back to No. 16 with the duo of previously unranked The Ohio State University (18 points) and the United States Naval Academy (18 points) tying at No. 17.

The University of California-Irvine (15 points) and the University of Texas (13 points) complete the Top 20.

2024 Men’s Division III Collegiate Club National Top 10 (Week 2/September 26)

Washington University in St. Louis remains at No. 1 in the 2024 Week 2/September 26 Men’s Division III Collegiate Club National Top 10 Poll.

A seven-time Division III Collegiate Club National Champion, Washington (99 points) inches to within one point of rating as a unanimous No. 1 selection.

Augustana College (91 points) is the biggest mover of the week as the team rises from No. 7 to No. 2 with the University of California-Santa Cruz (90 points) and Tufts University (85 points) achieving No. 3 and 4 rankings.

Bowdoin College (81 points), Amherst College (76 points), New York University (68 points), the United States Coast Guard Academy (64 points) and Macalester College (59 points) take over at No. 5-to-9 with Bates College (25 points) and Carnegie Mellon University (25 points) tying at No. 10.
