Alvaro Granados is a new player for Pro Recco. The Spanish striker born in 1998 arrives from Novi Beograd: he was the top scorer in the last two editions of the Champions League. With the Iberian national team he is the reigning European champion - a competition that has seen him triumph again among the scorers - and won the World Cup in Budapest in 2022. Raised in Terrassa, he played for five seasons in Barceloneta before moving for two years in Serbia.

Twenty-six years old on 8 October, Granados is one of the strongest players in the world and with the Biancoceleste he aims to win his first Champions League: "In a club like Pro Recco, winning all competitions must always be the 'objective. But to get to that point you have to work, so that will be my priority. And I'm sure that when the time comes, Pro Recco, as always, will be the favorite. The Italian league is probably the most professional in the world with many top-level clubs; It will be a challenging competition but I'm sure that, as always, Pro Recco will be the protagonist. I spoke to many teammates who played here and they all have wonderful memories and a lot of respect for this club. I haven't heard from Mr. Sukno yet, but there will be time to do so; he was one of the best players in history in the same position as me, so I will have a lot to learn: what he is doing as a coach says everything about his skill."
Granados' water polo idols are two old Biancocelesti acquaintances: "Felipe Perrone and Andrija Prlainović have always been two references for me, both former Pro Recco players, so following in their footsteps in this club will be an honor".
Off the pitch, when the few free moments allow it, sport is always among his interests: "I like watching and playing padel. Speaking of football, however, I am a Real Madrid fan and what is clear is that Pro Recco is the Real Madrid of water polo".
