WC for cadets begins: Four national teams led by Serbian coaches

Tomorrow the World Championship for players up to 16 years of age starts in Malta. As many as 32 teams will participate, and several of them will seek the way to the desired results with experience from the Serbian coaching water polo school.

The professional staff of Germany is composed mainly of Serbian coaches, who have been engaged in water polo in this country for a long time. The head coach will be Nebojša Novoselac, once a member of the professional staff of the senior team of Serbia, who has many years of experience working in Germany. He was also the coach of the German senior national team. Novoselč's assistants are Zoran Milenković, at one time the first coach of Partizan, then Marin Restović, until recently the first team member of Spandau, Đorđe Milojković and Stefan Popović.

On the bench of Turkey is Nebojša Obradović, who after working in Kazakhstan, where he led the senior national team, at the beginning of this year was appointed as the coach of junior and cadet selections of Turkey. A few months ago, Obradović led the Turkish juniors to the European Championship for 19-year-olds through the qualifications.

Bulgaria will participate in the world competition for the first time in many years. The selection will be led by Žarko Petrović, who recently told the website UVTS about his mission in Bulgaria.

Serbia at the start against Peru

By the way, the Serbian national team is in the A group, and it starts tomorrow at 9 am with a match against Peru. On Wednesday, he meets Brazil (4:30 p.m.), and on Thursday, in the last round against China (5:45 p.m.).

The championship is played in two pools, close to the capital city of Valletta. Serbia will play in the first phase in an indoor pool in the small town of Bormla.
